New Additions...

The Dorbor family is proud to announce the addition of a new member to their family in the form of a baby boy named Javen. He was born on Feb 10, 2006 and details of his arrival in the words of his family are captured below;

"Mr. and Mrs. Julius Mamadee Dorbor are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Javen Mamadee Dorbor. Javen was born on February 10, 2006 at 7:55 AM at the Costa Mesa Memorial Hospital in Orange County.

"He weighed 6 pound 3 Ounces at birth. Javen is at the top of his class. He is the first child of Julius and Jas and the first grandchild of Joseph and Genevieve Dorbor. Julius is the oldest of J. Mamadee and Genevieve Dorbor’s three children. His family lives in Long Beach.

“'It has been more than 20 years since anyone in my family changed baby diapers. When Genevieve and I went to spend time with our grandchild, it was exciting taking turn to change his diapers”, said the senior Dorbor'."

THE YARZIEHS CELEBRATE 29 YEARS TOGETHER

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Yarzieh will be celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary on November 28, 2005. The couple lives in Los Angeles and is well known in the Liberian Community of Southern California. Charles is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Liberian Community here. Congratulations, Charles & Oretha, from all of us in the community!

Mrs. Yarzieh also celebrated her birthday on November 23, 2005.

The family of David & Janet Beyan is in a birthday celebration mode! Lorpu, the second daughter of the couple celebrated her birthday on November 22nd followed by Janet Larwuo, their youngest daughter, on November 27th. December 5, 2005 is the birthday of Mr. David Beyan. David is former President of the Liberian Community. Happy Birthday, Everyone!!

Joshua is a member of the Board of Directors of the Liberian Community and widely known in the community.

Mrs. Johnson Celebrates 65 th Birthday

Mrs. Jessie Johnson turned 65 on December 15, 2005 and a cross section of the Liberian Community came out on December 17th to help her celebrate this memorable event. Mr. & Mrs. Alex Peal hosted the occasion at their Temecula home, where friends and relatives gathered for the party. Madam Johnson is a relative of the Maysons’ and the Peals’.

Those in attendance included Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Free, David Beyan, Rev & Mrs. Nathaniel Dixon, Rev Malia Harris and Mr. & Mrs. Fedelis Tucker. Mr. Joshua Howard, who came with his wife, Joy, provided music for the night.

Mr. James L. Bowier Graduates From College

Mr. Alex Bowier Family is pleased to announce the graduation of their son, James L. Bowier, ll from the University of Akron in Ohio.  James will receive a BA Degree in Business Management with minor in Marketing on December 17, 2005.

Alex, the father, is delighted at the achievement of his third son, hence is preparing to join other members of the family for this important occasion.

The President and members of the Liberian Community send heartfelt congratulations to James and the Bowier family for this milestone. This is the "American Dream" that we seek for in this nation.
